Procedures
The following are the aspects you should consider if you want to travel abroad for dental treatment.
Cosmetic dentistry treatments are trending due to the great demand from patients. However, its high costs in the United States, Canada, and Europe make it difficult and unattainable for many.
Today these treatments are accessible to anyone interested in traveling to other countries.
However, it is vital to consider certain critical aspects when considering traveling abroad for veneers or Lumineers.
Porcelain Veneers and Lumineers
Among the different cosmetic dental treatment options, this is the best option for several reasons.
• Ceramic or dental porcelain is the dental material that imitates the physicality of the natural tooth characteristics (shape, color, shine, texture, etc.).
• It is a primary durable material; it can
last more
than 15 years • It does not stain, lose its shine, or change color over time Clients need to stay a minimum of five to seven days for Veneers and Lumineers installation. Treatment needs several days to be placed correctly. In addition, some patients need a gingivectomy or gum trimming, dental stones, or canal treatments.
Veneers and Lumineers require a more extended manufacturing procedure performance in a dental laboratory associated with the dental office. Therefore, before their final installation, tests must be carried out to verify color, shape, and adaptation. The test is a verification process to make sure all characteristics are suitable before fixating the veneers.
Once the veneers or LUMINEERS are installed, the patient needs a follow-up appointment 1 or 2 days later; to verify that the adaptation of the teeth' new shape is correct.
Composite Veneers
You should know that not all people need the same dental cosmetic procedures. Therefore, there is no standard estimated time for all patients.
These are the most common procedures for composite veneers, which will guide you in how much approximate time you will be in Colombia.
• Gingivectomy or gum trimming, If the gums' shape and size are swelling or uneven when the patient smiles, the gums need to be shaped. The surgery is a simple 60 minutes procedure.
• Dental whitening ensures that your smile is enhanced, illuminated to give a harmony of color. We perform two to four whitening sessions, depending on the condition of the patients' teeth; this requires two appointments.
• These high aesthetic veneers take 4 or 5 hours to make; this procedure takes two days; 8 or 10 veneers is a one-day visit—16 to 20 veneers two.
• The final appointment is 48 hours later; this appointment evaluates, polish, and make any last adjustments. Composite veneers also require 4 days in Cartagena for a proper installment unless a gingivectomy is required which would require to stay an additional 2 to 3 days.
